Environmental Grooming

Thank you for visiting Purrfectly Pawlished!  I am a pet groomer with 20+ years of experience in many different areas of pet care, and have owned, bred, trained, and groomed many species of animals and have worked closely with vets.  I have chosen to concentrate my talent on grooming because thorough grooming is the first step to good health for any pet.
I have a small groom shop and I offer a quiet environment, all natural products, quiet music, one on one attention, and crating is a rare occasion.  I consider your pet part of your family, and treat each one with TLC.
Each appointment generally takes an hour and a half, depending on condition of the coat and the size of your pet.  Appointment times are flexible, including evenings and weekends.
Please feel free to call and talk about your pet needs, or make an appointment.  My shop serves clients in the Cobb, Paulding, and Cherokee counties in Georgia.
You can e-mail me at Pawlished@bellsouth.net, or call Leslie at (770)420-4059.

I was certified by an AKC show judge, and have also been involved in search and rescue training, obedience training, and have been a consultant for behavioral problem adjustment.  Please feel free to contact me for further information.

Now your pet doesn't have to suffer long stays at the groomers, other barking dogs, short tempered groomers, and loud noises that leave him or her frenzied and hard to handle afterward.  Your pet will have individual attention from start to finish, and will be treated gently.  Training your pet to the groom table is the key to happy grooming.  If your pet is skiddish about a technique of the grooming experience I will use a different approach.  I will talk with you about how to desensitize him or her at home between grooms so the next groom experience will be more familiar.  Each new client will go home with a new toy that is used during the groom experience to induce play and encourage a feeling of security in the groom surroundings.

Dogs:  include 15 min. of brushout time, pluck and clean ears, trim and/or grind nails, check anal glands and express only if necessary, bath, drying, and styling.

Full grooms start at $25 for small dogs
                                  $35 for medium (20-30 lbs.)
$45 for dogs over 30 lbs.

Large and giant breed prices depend on size and coat type.  Each will be priced individually upon seeing your dog.  These dogs will typically run between $50 and $85, again depending on the size of the dog, and the amount of work that will have to be done.

   Add-ons may include:
   nail grinding (without groom) $8
   nail clipping (without groom)  $5
strip seriously matted coat     $ 10 above groom price
brushout after first 15 min.     $5 per 15 min.
   flea bath                                 $10
   toothbrushing/ breath freshening   $5
   deshedding                             $5 per 15 min

Double coated dogs should NOT be shaved.  I recommend a deshedding program that will greatly reduce the amount of hair found in the pets living area.  Shaving a double coated dog can cause a wire feel to the coat and/or balding patches.  If your vet requires shaving for medical reasons, I will take that into consideration, but for the most part I find the practice unwise.
